Segura reaches 2,999 passing yards, with Gonzales right on his heels

Aaron Segura is one passing yard short of 3,000 in the reported totals for this edition. A quarterback can spend a season moving the ball up and down Texas and still find himself waiting on one measly yard.

The Sonora quarterback leads these available submissions with 2,999 yards. Seminole’s Jacob Gonzales has 2,987, a gap of 12 yards. Hutto’s Micah Antoun follows at 2,769.

Gonzales needs 13 yards to reach 3,000. Both he and Segura are within a single completion of the mark.

Keep the reporting dates in mind. Schools submit their numbers at different times, so this is a comparison of the available totals, not a claim that every Friday-night pass in the state has been counted. The quarterbacks deserve attention. They also deserve a leaderboard that is honest about what has been reported.
