North Forney’s last possession tells the story against Rockwall-Heath
North Forney found a practical solution to Rockwall-Heath’s comeback Friday. The Falcons kept the football until there was no comeback left to attempt.
A 35–14 second-half lead had dwindled to 38–35 with more than five minutes remaining. North Forney finished with a 15-play, 62-yard possession that preserved the win and left Heath waiting for another chance.
Briceson Thrower had 169 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Those numbers deserve their space. So does an offense that can put together 15 plays when a three-point lead has everybody checking the clock.
The Falcons have some explaining to do about how a 21-point cushion became three. They also have a closing possession worth remembering. When the game required them to keep control, they kept it.
Long touchdowns make attractive highlights. Ask the opponent who never got the ball back what it thought of those last 62 yards.
