Lake Travis gets back to work, leaves Round Rock with a 31–14 win
A rivalry loss can hang around a football team like a wet coat. Lake Travis had a better answer Friday: go win the next game.
The Cavaliers beat Round Rock 31–14 at Dragon Stadium, a week after losing to Westlake. Quarterback Jason Carter contributed a 38-yard touchdown run, and Lake Travis held Round Rock to 14 points while winning by 17.
That gives the Cavaliers something constructive to carry into the final week of the regular season. They return home to face Westwood on Nov. 6.
The value is in the response. A team cannot recover the previous Friday by worrying it to death. Lake Travis went on the road and collected a clear win. Now it has one more regular-season assignment to handle before the calendar gets less forgiving.
